Frankly, there are just so many vintage clothes shops in Brighton, it’s hard to know where to start, so I hope this guide to vintage boutique shopping in Brighton will come in handy. Each shop I’ve chosen is unique in its own way and there’s not a musty-damp-smelling jumble-sale-style vintage shop in sight. Happy shopping!
All about Audrey
All About Audrey on Trafalgar Street is a treasure trove of bohemian/gypsy-style vintage clothes from the 60s and 70s packed into a quaint North Laine shop. They especially love Indian prints, make some of their own 70s-style dresss out of vintage fabrics and have lots of fun accessories perfect for festivals.
Find All About Audrey at 27 Trafalgar Street, Brighton
Hope and Harlequin
I like to describe Hope and Harlequin as Brighton’s hidden vintage boutique, for its location along a ‘twitten’ in the middle of busy central Brighton. They specialise in designer gowns. Read more here.
This three-floor vintage emporium is filled to bursting with all kinds of funky vintage stuff – think Americana, prairie style and California chic. It’s also home to Brighton’s tiniest plant shop which you’ll find hidden on the top floor. Read more here.
Find Waiste Vintage at 3 Gardner St, Brighton BN1 1UP
Wolf and Gypsy
This cool vintage shop in the North Laine stocks a curated selection of vintage pieces that reflect modern styles – think 90s crinkle tops, 70s smock dresses, 80s neon cardis and dresses. They also sell new pieces including tie-die sweatshirts and pyjamas, as well as homewares. It’s always fun to walk past their window displays, too, which are always fun and change with the seasons or reflect events or things going on in the news.
Find Wolf and Gypsy at 30 Sydney St, Brighton BN1 4EP
Upstairs in the ‘attic’ of Snooper’s Paradise is this particularly eccentric mix of vintage consignments – from delicate Victorian and Edwardian clothing and 1920s dresses – think black lace, silks and velvets – to bespoke millinery and stylish menswear.
Find Snooper’s Attic at Snooper’s Paradise, 7-8 Kensington Gardens, Brighton BN1 4AL
Tucked away in a seafront arch near Brighton’s West Pier, it’s easy to overlook Rebound. If you do, you’re missing out on a treasure trove of carefully curated preloved high street and designer pieces, as well as the odd cool 70s number.
Find Rebound Store at 97-99, Kings Road Arches, Kings Road, Brighton BN1 2FN
Preloved of Brighton
Another second-hand consignment gem, this time in the residential Fiveways area of Brighton. With its ever-changing themed window displays, it’s hard for passers-by not to stop and have a look to be tempted inside to nab a vintage bargain.
Find Preloved of Brighton at 267A Preston Drove, Brighton BN1 6FL
Bobby & Dandy
Bobby & Dandy Vintage set along a beautiful mews in Hove specialises in hand-picked vintage clothing, with an emphasis on mid-century originals and vintage workwear. What I love about their collection is that the pieces are timeless and wearable if you’re into modern fashion.
Find Bobby & Dandy at The Workshop, 16 Cambridge Grove, Hove BN3 3ED.
As usual I’ll be adding to this guide when a new place catches my eye. If you have a question, don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Ellie & Co concierge.
