Winter in the UK is on the way, ushering in cooler temperatures and fairy lights everything. This, believe it or not, actually excites me! I’m one of few British people who love winter for the chance to bundle up for windswept walks and cinema trips. This isn’t to say I don’t love the idea of some winter sunshine come mid-February! So along with Original Travel, I’ve picked out a few warm-weather getaways, some near and some far-flung, from city breaks to island escapes, to inspire our quest for seasonal warmth.
A Mystical trip to Jordan
Jordan is a fascinating and diverse country full of cultural, architectural, and historic details and this fast-paced whirlwind six-day trip is for those who want to go big but don’t have much time. A long weekend in this cosmopolitan, pioneering city in the heart of the Holy Land feels like you’re in California; the sun shines every day, and you can go swimming all year round. At night, Israeli pop, live jazz and electro from bars, clubs and concert halls fills the air. Discover small cafes and organic restaurants, eat pitta bread and hummus at Ali Karavan’s in Jaffa, browse galleries and vintage clothes shops, explore the so-called ‘White City’, home to thousands of houses that together create the richest Bauhaus heritage in the world, before lounging on the beach.
