If like me while you’re browsing around a gallery or museum you often wonder what’s going on behind the scenes, you’ll love this documentary series. Secrets of the Museum goes behind the scenes of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London into a world no visitor would ever dream of seeing.
Each juicy one-hour-long episode tells the story of several objects that might need to be conserved, displayed or loaned out. We see how much detail goes into each task and it’s captivating to hear the curators, designers, makers and conservators speak openly about their jobs and challenges. The first episode was amazing and I’m planning to watch them all in a row tonight with a glass of wine. They’re available on iPlayer here and because there’s no trailer, I posted a little clip.
