I’m a cat person, so am excited to find out about Lady Dinah’s Cat Cafe in Shoreditch, London’s first-ever cat café! It takes inspiration from the Japanese who are already BIG on this kind of thing – apparently it’s a trend that started out in Osaka 10 years ago. The idea is that you book a 90-minute slot so you can relax, eat and drink in the company of the café’s 12 resident felines.
Aussie Lauren Pears opened the cafe early last year by raising £108K through a crowdfunding campaign, with 3000 bookings made in the first 4.5 hours after it announced its opening day. Until I plan my visit, I couldn’t resist a little peek inside to meet the friendly pets.
Lady Dinah’s serves afternoon and high tea and sells an interesting selection of memorabilia, such as necklaces, fridge magnets, totes bags, and mugs. Must-buys for any cat and kitsch lover.
Find Lady Dinah’s Cat Cafe at 152 Bethnal Green Road, Shoreditch.

We need to go here soon Els, I went to one in Thailand, it was so cool!! x
I think there's one in Sydney too! Was the Thai one full of stray cats?! Love the tote bags. WANT!!
I'll pay for us – let's get a date in the diary! x
And what was the Thai one like? My sister and I want to know!
If I ever come over, let's go. It's such an intriguing yet bizarre concept. I want the magnets!
it was great, they gave us slippers to wear, we sat and had a cup of tea and some cake and made friends with a gorgeous all white kitten. there were plenty of others wandering around but he seemed to want to be with us 🙂 x
