My favourite New York designer who made paper weights cool, lives in an 18th-century sea captain’s house in Provincetown on Cape Cod, New England. “I renovated the plumbing and electric, but left the rest of the house how it was, even the peeling wallpaper. A year afterward, my brother visited and said, ‘Take your time renovating it.’ I didn’t have the heart to tell him I already had.”
