On a recent scroll through Instagram, I did a double take when I spotted a painting by Brighton-based artist, Georgina Smith, of my favourite chip shop in Brighton. It also happens to be my local, which I’ve nicknamed the ‘accidentally Twin Peaks chip shop’ for its vintage decor. I also love the little building it calls home; and the fish and chips aren’t bad, either.
Browsing through her website, I discovered many familiar Brighton spots, including another I’ve written about: my secret backstreet Brighton builders’ cafe. Georgina and I have the same taste in local hangouts, it seems. Here are a few of my favourites from her website in my hometown and beyond. Browse all of Brighton artist Georgina Smith’s work here.
