As a big advocate for people watching when travelling, I absolutely love this idea for an Instagram account. At home in London or away, friends Alex Mendes and Hugo Catraio, like to imagine short stories about the strangers they spot but never actually speak to. Some of their posts are hilarious but also quite touching. Here are a few of my favourites…
Spotted in Sicily: “The search for the perfect gelato goes on. So far, bubble gum is still her favourite.”Spotted in New York: “I wear this because I’m shy. It’s my conversation starter.”
Spotted in Budapest, Hungary: “A porn addict. Hashtag food porn. Ceramic porn. Fish porn. Mostly everything but porn porn.”Spotted in Sicily: “I hired a Fiat 500 online, but apparently they ran out of it.”Spotted in London, England: “She’s got a YOLO tattoo. She thinks it’s cute because her name is Yolanda.”Spotted in London, England: “A ‘but-why-did-you-do-it-then’ woman. Whenever she Shazams a song, she’ll wait for the result to say, “I knew it”.Spotted in Sicily: “Sicily: Many learnings in life can only come from mother to daughter. But the opposite can also be true: Mom is on Snapchat now.”Spotted in Bath, Somerset: “Bath, Somerset: Even though it’s itchy, she proudly wears the scarf grandma made her. Little does she know grandma got it at Topshop.”Spotted in Miami Beach, Florida: “Miami Beach: Her last date wasn’t one to remember. “It was completely dry and just didn’t taste right.”New York: They are inseparable. A 30-year partnership that no one can set apart. Not even her. “It’s been 5 years since I saw the top of his head for the last time.”Spotted in London: What some might call a glass half full duo.”You know a trip will be fun when your luggage goes missing, and your friend suggests visiting a charity shop.”
