If Brighton library looked like this, I’d wave goodbye to my little dining table and the patrons at my local cafe and set up camp in one of these amazing spaces like a shot. These photos taken inside some of the world’s most beautiful libraries are all part of a series started by Brooklyn-based photographer, Frank Bohbot, called House of Books, started in 2012. So far, he’s travelled around Europe, with plans to go further afield.

6. Giant art installations made out of thousands of sparkling gems
Suzan Drummen, an artist based in the Netherlands, lays thousands of tiny dazzling crystals and other shiny objects freely on the ground to create elaborate installations that look like textile designs. Amazingly, she doesn’t make a plan for each work, instead she lets each site guide her, checking the light, route of the visitors, the colours, the height etc, on spot.She uses pins to affix the crystal, chrome-plated metal, precious stones, mirrors and optical glass that she uses to walls.

In 1958, Marilyn Monroe posed for a series of photographs taken by Richard Avedon for the Christmas issue of Life Magazine to accompany an article titled “Fabulous Enchantresses” where Monroe recreated five famous actresses. These were Lillian Russell, Theda Bara, Clara Bow, Jean Harlow, and Marlene Dietrich.
